We did 3 days in Berlin (finally). It was cold in February but, still had a good time.
Home:
Transportation:
We took the Metro (UBahn) around almost everywhere! We bought a 72 hour pass which gave us access to all public transportation (tram, metro and buses!)
Sights (I’ll break it down by days and in order)
Day 1:
Reichstag Building – Glass domed home of their Parliament
Brandenburg Gate – Classic Archway
Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe – Amazing Labyrinth. Get lost here.
Mauerpark – Berlin’s Sunday Flea Market, all other shopping is closed on Sundays. A lot of vintage camera stuff for sale here. Try the Turkish coffee.
Berlin Wall – walk the entire wall and appreciate each piece.
Day 2:
Museum Island – Good collection of Museums, if we had more time we would have spent time in one.
Berlin Cathedral – We chose to climb to the top to try and get a view of the city #gloomfail

Food:
Restaurant Sauerkraut (https://www.yelp.com/biz/sauerkraut-berlin)
We ate here the first night with our friends from Italy (who now live in Berlin) and a special guest. The special guest was a guy from Korea that they just met on the way back to Berlin that was down to have dinner with some random people :). Everyone ordered a different traditional German dish and we all shared.
- Beef Stroganov
- Homemade Sheese-Spatzle (truffle, porcini mushrooms and parmesan cheese
- Schnitzel Veal
- Any Sausage and Sauerkraut
Augustiner am Genarmenmarkt (https://www.yelp.com/biz/augustiner-am-gendarmenmarkt-berlin-2)
This was our favorite place to eat and was consider Bavarian Style. All you need to know is “The Original” (Pork Knuckle with cabbage) and treat yourself to 1L of beer 😉
Arema Cafe (https://www.yelp.com/biz/arema-berlin)
We ate here the last night as a recommendation from our German friend. This was also Authentic German food. We had:
- Home made Spaetzle Cheese noodles with bacon and onions 🙂
- Pork Steak
- Try any dessert
Drinks:
We checked out a few bars/clubs but our favorite was Honolulu.
Honolulu (https://www.yelp.com/biz/honolulu-berlin-8)
Get anything and just lounge. Cool little spot to just unwind and sip on the drink of your choice 🙂
Shopping:
Alexaderplatz is Berlin’s most famous square. Here you’ll find some shopping as well the famous Berlin TV tower.
PRIMARK – We only shop here. Think H&M but, better quality and cheaper.
Look out for the skateboarding dog!
Enjoy!

Hi there, love your blog! Berlin is one of my fave places 🙂
I write for a magazine in Liverpool UK and I’m writing a comic piece on the little skateboarding dog you’ve photographed here! Would you mind granting us rights to the image at all? Would be happy to credit you. I can send an email off the magazine account it needed.
